Panch Badri Yatra – Sacred Temples of Lord Vishnu

Panch Badri refers to five ancient temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. These sacred shrines form a pilgrimage circuit for devotees of Vishnu and are visited for spiritual upliftment, inner peace, and divine blessings. Each temple has a unique historical and mythological significance.

1. Badrinath Temple

The most famous and central shrine among the Panch Badri, Badrinath Temple is one of the Char Dham and Chhota Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Located on the banks of the Alaknanda River, it is believed to be where Lord Vishnu meditated under the Badri tree. The temple is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and opens for six months every year.

  • Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Badri Narayan form.
  • Main attraction during Char Dham Yatra.

  • Located at an altitude of 1,800 meters.
  • Oldest of all the Badri temples.
